Environmental Impact of Ground Source Heat Pump Systems: A Comparative Investigation From South to North Europe

چکیده

Ground Heat Exchangers (GHEs), buried in the ground either horizontally or vertically (in a borehole), are coupled with heat pump to form Source Pump (GSHP) system, which is type of Renewable Energy System that exploits geothermal energy for space heating and cooling. GSHP systems proposed as an alternative conventional Air Pumps (ASHPs) they exhibit higher efficiency. In this study, difference efficiency tested order determine how perform terms environmental impact. Three types (with different GHE configuration), each compared ASHPs, undergo Life Cycle Analysis using ReCiPe method from both mid-point end-point perspectives. The cooling loads required single residential building area 220 m 2 , nearly Zero Building technical characteristics, used Functional Unit, seven cases (locations/countries) South North Europe. Additionally, Simple Payback Period employed investigate CO payback time GSHPs. It concluded use buildings, even nZEB (nearly Buildings) characteristics low heating/cooling demand, can be more environmentally friendly solution than ASHP depending on factors affecting namely thermal peak electricity mix.

Ground-source Heat Pump Systems the European Experience

Ground-source heat pumps play a key role in geothermal development in Central and Northern Europe. With borehole heat exchangers as heat source, they offer de-central geothermal heating at virtually any location, with great flexibility to meet given demands. In the vast majority of systems, no space cooling is included, leaving ground-source heat pumps with some economic constraints. Neverthele...

Research on Ground Source Heat Pump Design

One of world’s largest uses of energy is the heating and cooling of buildings. Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) provide a more energy efficient way to meet building energy needs than conventional alternatives. At a relatively shallow depth, the ground temperature is nearly constant year round providing a reliable heat source or sink for the operation of a heat pump. The design of such systems is...

A model of groundwater seepage and heat transfer for single-well ground source heat pump systems

In China, for the limitation of land, many buildings intending to utilize ground source heat pump systems install “single-well” systems, which drill only one well for both the pumping and reinjection of the groundwater. A model of groundwater seepage and heat transfer for single-well ground source heat pump systems has been established and validated against the experiment conducted in Denmark. ...

Assessment and Deployment of Ground Source Heat Pump for Air Pollution Reduction in Tehran, Iran

The use of renewable energies, especially in metropolises has led to a reduction in environmental pollution and greater access to clean, renewable and sustainable energy. This paper evaluates the effectiveness of a national plan adopted by the Tehran city council for reducing air pollutions. This plan is designed to increase the share of renewable energies in residential buildings. This study a...
